Strength
Having strength is not just a case of being physically strong. More importantly it’s about having the right attitude – a positive and confident approach to matches and training is vital for success. A footballer’s life is full of ups and downs, successes and disappointments. During matches you have to battle to overcome your opponents, mistakes will made but its how you deal with it that is important - you must stay focused and think clearly to overcome a challenging situation!
Even away from football the same outlook to life is a healthy one.
Question for Craig Fagan
Q.Did you want to be a pro when younger? Have you been disappointed or rejected and how did you respond? How do you stay focused in a game?
A. From starting to play football at a very young age I always wanted to be a professional and feel lucky that I’ve been given that opportunity. There have been one or two knockbacks along the way, particularly when Birmingham let me go, but all I’ve done is get my head down, work harder and try to prove a few people wrong. That’s the only way to be because feeling sorry for yourself doesn’t get you very far and nobody will give you anything in life or football – you have to go out there and earn it the hard way. Staying focused during the game is all about doing what you need to do as a player which in turn will hopefully help the team to win the game.
Can you work as hard as Craig?
